Notion AI

the assistant built into Notion - writes, searches and builds pages and databases

One assistant that does many things across the workspace, which is how Notion presents it: writing and editing, research, translation, and building pages and databases. It also searches connected apps such as Slack and Google Drive, and Notion says: "It still follows your workspace access rules and only uses information it has permission to see." Where it writes into a page you accept or discard the change before it stays.

AI Meeting Notes

transcribes your meetings and writes up the notes

Listens to a meeting through the computer's microphone and system audio, or a phone's microphone, transcribes it and writes a summary. Notion: "Notion AI transcribes your meeting and identifies key points and action items that you can share with your entire team." It also works on a recording made elsewhere: "You can upload an existing audio recording to a Meeting Notes block so Notion can transcribe and summarize it, even if the meeting wasn't recorded live in Notion."

Image generation

makes and edits pictures, diagrams and flowcharts from a description

Makes new images and edits existing ones from a written request, either in an image block on a page or by asking Notion Agent in chat. Notion: "Create and edit images with Notion Agent to make diagrams, flowcharts, and visual notes, then refine them with follow-up instructions."

Custom Agents

agents your staff set up that run on a schedule or a trigger

Filed by Notion as its own thing, and it works differently from the assistant: once it is set up it runs on a schedule or a trigger rather than being asked each time. Notion: "They run automatically in the background on set triggers using your existing docs and databases as context." On what they may touch: "Agents act only on the pages, databases, and external apps you explicitly grant access to." Notion lists what they can then do, including: "Take actions such as posting reports, filing bugs, updating records, or sending messages."

Claude agents in Notion (beta)

Anthropic's agents, sold and hosted by Notion, working on your workspace

A different company’s AI, but Notion’s own product: Notion hosts it, bills it and switches it on. Notion: "Claude agents are hosted by Notion via Anthropic’s infrastructure." On some plans they are turned off by default. On what it may see: "Claude agents can only see what you share with them."

Spotted something out of date in Notion?

A moved switch, a renamed feature, or one that is missing: say what, in a line or two. Every message is read by a person.

Checked by people, kept up to date. Every feature on this page was checked by a person against the vendor’s own pages, and the catalogue is re-checked and updated regularly. Mistakes can still happen and vendors change their products without notice, so always check the linked page before relying on it. These are facts about the software. They are not legal advice and do not say what the law requires of you. How the library is checked
