Gemini in Classroom
drafts lessons, quizzes, rubrics and feedback on students’ work for teachers, and gives students a Gemini study tab
Gives teachers Gemini tools that draft lesson plans, quizzes, rubrics, simplified texts and stories, and gives students a Gemini tab for studying with Gemini and Gemini Notebook. Google: “Gemini in Google Classroom is a suite of generative AI tools designed for educators and eligible students.” It can also draft feedback on a student’s written work: Google: “Based on a student's work, grade level, and any specific focus area that you designate, Gemini can draft feedback suggestions for written assignments.”
Gemini Notebook
and Gems in Classroom: teachers attach AI study notebooks and custom Gemini assistants to assignments
Lets a teacher attach a Gemini Notebook or a Gem — a custom version of Gemini — to an assignment, built from the class’s own materials. Google: “The supported attachments on the classwork items you select import to Gemini Notebook as sources.” From those sources the teacher generates audio overviews, study guides and FAQs, and students chat with the notebook but cannot add sources.
Interactive questions for YouTube videos
AI suggests questions from the video for the teacher to use
Writes questions about a YouTube video that a teacher can add to a video assignment, which students then answer as they watch. Google: “Suggested questions have been generated by AI based on the content of a video.” The teacher accepts, edits or deletes each one before the assignment is made, and only teachers designated as over 18 can use it.
