Smart editor
rewrites text you have already written
Rewrites text you have already typed into a task description, a comment or a status update. Asana: "The Edit writing and Improve format features help you strike the right tone, adjust the length of your writing, and improve the structure of your responses." Nothing changes until you accept the rewrite.
Smart summaries
summarises what has happened in a task, project or portfolio
Reads recent activity and writes a summary of it. Asana: "Smart summaries offer visibility into the latest activities and progress about work." Asana documents it on tasks, projects, portfolios and the Inbox, and in Slack, and lists risk reports and drafting a task's subtasks under the same feature.
Smart fields
suggests and fills in custom fields on a project
Suggests custom fields for a project and can fill them in. Asana: "This feature is designed to create a number of field recommendations for you based on task and other content in the respective project." Nothing is added to the project until you accept it.
Smart status
drafts the status update for a project, portfolio or goal
Writes the status update for a project, portfolio or goal rather than summarising it for someone else to write. Asana: "You can use smart status to draft status updates for projects, portfolios, and goals."
Smart goals
rewrites and standardises the goals people set
Reads a goal someone has already set and proposes changes to it. Asana: "Asana AI will analyze your existing goal by looking at the current title, description, and supported subgoals or related work, and provide you with suggestions for improvement." Asana says it also standardises goals across the organisation.
Smart projects
builds a whole project from its name
Builds the structure of a project from its name and purpose. Asana: "Simply enter a project name, and smart projects will generate a detailed description, organize sections, and create relevant custom fields." A person sees it before it is created: "Before finalizing the project, you will have the option to modify the name and description or regenerate the entire project if needed."
Smart import
turns an uploaded document into tasks and projects
Reads a file someone uploads and builds work items out of it. Asana: "Import files such as spreadsheets, presentations, and PDFs, and Asana AI will analyze the content to generate structured tasks or projects." Asana adds that "File attachments must be enabled in your domain to use smart import."
Smart chat
answers questions about your Asana data, and acts on it
Answers questions about the organisation's Asana data and can change it. Asana: "You can get accurate answers pulled from across your Asana organization, and quickly create and update tasks." Switching it on needs both the Anthropic and the OpenAI provider toggles enabled. Asana says Asana Dash is replacing it.
Smart rule creator
builds an automation rule from a plain-English instruction
Builds an automation rule from an instruction typed in ordinary English, or from a suggestion Asana offers. Asana: "Automate the rule creation process in the rule builder by providing simple, and natural language instructions via prompts or choosing from a selection of suggestions provided."
AI Studio
lets your own staff build AI workflows, with no code
A builder rather than a fixed feature: staff describe a workflow and Asana turns it into a running automation. Asana: "Choose when your automation in Asana fires — a new task, form submission, or any project event." An automation can then check, classify, route, alert, report, research, create, integrate and translate — including one Asana labels Route: "Direct work to the right team, owner, or approval stage".
AI Teammates
AI agents that hold a role and do assigned work
Pre-built AI agents that hold a role — a content writer, a compliance manager, a project manager — and do assigned work inside workflows; customers can also build their own. On what they can see: "AI Teammates follow the boundaries your team sets for data access and sharing."
Asana Dash
reads meetings, email and Slack and tells you what to do next
A personal assistant that answers questions about your work, drafts updates and acts on them. Asana: "Dash can access any Asana data that you have permission to view." Answering inside a shared task, it reads from everything that user can see, so a reply may carry information from their private projects. Asana says it replaces Smart chat.
Asana Meetings
transcribes meetings and writes a summary and suggested tasks
Transcribes a meeting and writes a summary and suggested action items, which become tasks only when someone accepts them. Asana: "Instead of meeting notes living in a separate tool, Asana transcribes your meetings and generates an AI summary and suggested action items that you can convert into tasks without leaving Asana." It records only when a user starts it, and Asana says: "Transcripts, summaries, and action items are shared with all invitees in the calendar event who have an Asana account in your domain." Available on some plans.

Service AI
answers requests to a service team from the company's knowledge base
Answers requests sent to a service team in Asana Service Management, using the company's own published knowledge articles and any outside websites the company has allowed. Asana: "When a request is received, Service AI looks for a relevant published knowledge article and uses that information to respond." It replies to the requester without a team member, and passes on what it cannot answer: "When Service AI cannot resolve a request, it becomes a ticket and is routed to a queue for a team member to pick up." Available on some plans.

Pages
AI sidebar that drafts, summarises and answers questions about a page
Drafts, expands and summarises text on an Asana page (Asana's shared documents, formerly called Notes), and pulls out action items or answers questions about what the page says. It works on a passage a user highlights, or from a sidebar: "For more involved requests, open the full AI sidebar and describe what you need."
