Copilot in Teams meetings and events
answers questions about a meeting while it runs, and suggests follow-up tasks
Each participant who has Copilot can ask it about the meeting while it runs, such as who said what and where people agree or disagree. Microsoft: "Microsoft Copilot in Teams meetings and events is an artificial intelligence (AI) tool that captures important conversation points." Setting it to Off in the admin policy only makes it off by default: organisers can turn it back on for their own meeting.
Copilot in Teams calls
answers questions about a call while it runs, and suggests follow-up tasks
Each participant who has Copilot can ask it about the call. Microsoft: "Copilot identifies who said what, highlights shared perspectives with differing viewpoints, and suggests follow-up tasks—all during the call." It is on by default, and the calling policy can turn it off.
Intelligent recap
AI notes, suggested tasks and chapters after a meeting or call
After a meeting or call it writes AI notes and suggested tasks, marks who spoke and when each person was mentioned, splits the meeting into chapters, and can make audio and video summaries. Microsoft: "Intelligent meeting recap uses AI to help your users focus on the meeting discussion instead of taking notes." It has no switch of its own: it works wherever transcription is turned on.
- Where to check the switch
- No switch found — look in your Microsoft settings or ask your administrator
Live translated captions
and live translated transcription: captions and transcripts in each person's own language
Microsoft: "Allow your users to see captions translated into the language they’re most comfortable with." Microsoft: "Your users can understand each other better during a meeting or event by translating the meeting transcript into the language they're most comfortable with."
Facilitator
an AI agent in meetings that keeps the agenda, takes notes, answers questions and writes documents
Microsoft: "Facilitator is an AI-powered agent that helps keep meetings focused, organized, and action-oriented by surfacing agendas, tracking progress, and capturing key highlights in real time." Everyone in the meeting sees what it is asked and its answers, and it writes notes that all participants can edit. Microsoft: "Loop experiences in Teams control AI-generated notes for meetings, which are enabled by default." Microsoft: "Facilitator is allowed by default."
Channel Agent
an AI agent in each channel that tracks deadlines, writes status reports and answers questions
Microsoft: "These agents adopt the channel’s name and help with common tasks—such as flagging important deadlines that are buried in conversations, summarizing progress with succinct status reports, assigning tasks and due dates, and answering questions asked in natural language like What’s the latest on our budget?" Microsoft: "By default, for any new channel that an eligible user creates, a Channel Agent is automatically added to the channel." It is in public preview.
Interpreter
translates what people say in a meeting out loud, in their own voice if they choose
Microsoft: "Interpreter listens to the spoken language in the meeting and translates it into another language in real-time, allowing participants who speak different languages to understand each other and collaborate effectively." Speakers can have it simulate their own voice or use a preset voice, and an admin setting chooses which is the default. Microsoft: "When your users allow Interpreter to simulate their voice, their voice sample isn’t stored." It is on unless an admin turns it off.
Voice isolation
separates your voice from other voices and noise on calls, using your voice profile
Microsoft: "Voice isolation reduces noise and uses the personalized deep voice quality enhancement artificial intelligence (AI) model to separate the user's voice from other sounds and voices in Microsoft Teams calls and meetings." Microsoft: "To use the voice isolation feature, your users must have a voice profile." Voice profiles are allowed for everyone by default, and Microsoft: "Your users' voice profiles are only used for the reason they gave their permission for; Microsoft doesn't use their voice profiles for anything else." Voice isolation itself is also on by default.
Suggested replies
offers ready-made replies to chat messages
Offers short ready-made replies above the box where you type; selecting one sends it straight away. Microsoft: "Teams uses a machine learning model to continually improve the suggested replies you see." Microsoft: "Suggested replies are turned on by default." Each person can also turn them off in their own Teams settings.
Teams Phone Agent
answers phone calls in conversation: answers questions, books appointments and routes callers
Microsoft: "Teams Phone Agent can answer questions, book appointments, provide specialized workflows and redirect calls based on callers' input." After the greeting it tells callers it is a virtual assistant, and an admin can change that message; Microsoft: "Accept the default message, customize it or disable it." It is in public preview and exists only where an admin sets one up.
